Key statement: WatchNovel is an offline Apple Watch reading app that supports TXT, EPUB, and other novel formats. After transferring novel files from your iPhone via WatchConnectivity, you can read independently on your watch without your phone. We only process data necessary for the app to function properly. We do not sell your personal information and we do not integrate third-party advertising SDKs.
1. Data We May Process
When you use WatchNovel, we may process the following categories of data:
- Novel files: TXT, EPUB, and other reading files you import and transfer to your Apple Watch via iPhone, stored locally on your device.
- Reading progress and settings: bookmarks, reading progress, font size, page-turning preferences, and other reading settings saved locally on your device.
- WatchConnectivity communication data: data transmitted between iPhone and Apple Watch for novel file transfers using Apple's WatchConnectivity framework.
- Local preferences: such as app language settings, reading themes, and other local configuration information.
2. How We Use Data
- To transfer novel files between iPhone and Apple Watch.
- To save and restore your reading progress, bookmarks, and reading settings.
- To provide offline reading functionality, enabling you to read novels independently on your Apple Watch.
- To maintain app functionality and provide user support.
3. Storage and Transmission
WatchNovel is an offline reading app. Your novel files and reading data are stored locally on your device. Novel files are transferred between iPhone and Apple Watch through Apple's WatchConnectivity framework, which occurs directly between your devices without passing through any external servers. The app functions fully without an internet connection.
4. Third-Party Services and System Frameworks
We use Apple-provided system frameworks for certain features, including:
- WatchConnectivity: for transferring novel files between iPhone and Apple Watch.
- File Import: for importing TXT, EPUB, and other novel file formats from iPhone.
The current version does not include third-party advertising SDKs and does not integrate cross-app tracking SDKs for advertising purposes.
5. Children and Teens
If a minor uses the app, we recommend use under parent or guardian guidance. Guardians should supervise the content being read.
6. Managing Your Data
- You can delete imported novel files within the app.
- You can clear reading progress and bookmarks within the app.
- When you uninstall the app, locally stored device data is typically removed by the system.
